Kamal Singh

A Chartered Accountant by profession, Kamal has considerable experience of working with a broad range of companies in a sales and marketing led environment. In 2010 he co-founded Carlton Training & Consulting after fifteen years as Finance Director at Harper Collins Publishers. He brings broad commercial and financial management experience to the organisation along with a proven track record of business development and growth. 

Rob Scriven

Rob has over 30 years experience of the publishing industry and has worked for three companies during that time: Pearson, Oxford University Press [Editorial Director], and Harper Collins [Managing Director Language Division].  Rob is founder of the publishing services company Oxon Publishing Solutions, is an Associate of Ian Taylor Associates where he is presently providing IP and M&A consultancy for Chinese publishers, and he is also Research Associate at the International Centre for Publishing Studies, Oxford Brookes University. 

Peter Newsom

A highly experienced and respected sales consultant advising small and medium sized publishers on strategic sales review and management both for the UK and International trade markets.

International Sales Director at Headline Book Publishing for eighteen years with direct responsibility for the major English speaking markets of Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada, and the U.S.A. Involved with special international projects for the wider Hachette Group including strategic reviews of the Indian and South East Asian markets

Co-wrote a Guide to Export and a Guide to International Book Fairs for the Publishers Association.

Adrian Laing

Adrian is widely recognised as a leading expert in the field of media law: digital publishing contracts; IP disputes; libel & privacy matters; pre-publication legal reports; employment compromise agreements and all forms of dispute resolution.

He is a qualified Solicitor Advocate at Laing & Co and has held senior positions in the media industry including Thames Television, the ITC, Hammonds (solicitors) and Harper Collins.

Nishi Singh

Nishi is a qualified executive coach with the Institute of Leadership & Management and a member of the Association for Coaching with over 18 years of experience in coaching and management development. She possesses a natural talent for helping clients accomplish their best performance. Nishi adopts a collaborative, yet challenging approach to assist her clients achieve optimal results.

Specialist fields include working with existing and newly appointed managers and their teams to increase staff engagement. Nishi has worked across a diverse range of clients in the public, private and voluntary sectors.

Natasha Rennolds 

Natasha is a qualified executive coach who brings creativity and energy to her work. A natural curiosity alongside a solution focused approach assist her clients in achieving their goals. Natasha has over 20 years experience working with people to support them in achieving their potential with a background in policy development and implementation, entrepreneurial start up and organisational transformation. Natasha is a Director of Dreamkey, a member of the Institute of Leadership & Management, a member of the British Psychological Society and the Special Group in Coaching Psychology. She, also, holds voluntary positions as a trustee of The Big-C and Vice Chair of Governors at a local High School.

Shelagh Smith

Shelagh is a strengths coach, leadership development consultant and coach supervisor.  The essence of Shelagh's coaching and development work is enabling others to succeed. She is a pragmatic, challenging, collaborative and energising development expert who enables transformation of others. The emphasis is to enable optimal performance and experience of the individual or team she is working with.  Shelagh has over 27 years' international experience in both private and public sector organisations.  In the last few years she has worked on a regular basis in Africa.   

Specialist fields include individual and team coaching; facilitating Board and Executive groups, designing and implementing bespoke leadership development initiatives together with a strengths focused approach. Shelagh is also a qualified Coaching Supervisor and works with internal and external coaches to develop their reflective practice and development. Recently, Shelagh has co-authored a Mentoring Skills Toolkit.
